Do you suffer from painful burning or tingling in your hands, feet, or legs?

Is your daily routine interrupted by pain or numbness?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, you may be suffering from a condition known as Peripheral Neuropathy. This condition is caused by nerve damage resulting from poor circulation and is one of the most common complications of diabetes. Other causes can be, but are not limited to, medications, chemotherapy, alcohol, AIDS, cardiovascular disease, anemia, vitamin deficiency, or infectious disease.

Anodyne Therapy uses infrared light to help increase circulation while temporarily reducing the pain in the therapy area. Anodyne Therapy has been used for over 20 years on hundreds of thousands of patients. Most patients experience warmth, tingling, and some pulsing in the area being treated. This is to be expected as blood flow returns.

Are you a candidate for Anodyne Therapy?

If you’ve been diagnosed with pain and poor circulation in your extremities this comprehensive therapy program may be for you. You’ll want to talk to your doctor to see if this treatment is right for you.

Our comprehensive approach to care

Should you choose to try Anodyne Therapy, your treatment will begin with a personal assessment of the functional difficulties you are experiencing. We will ask what improvements you would like to see, and then recommend a therapy program that is specifically designed to help you reach your individual goals. Our program, usually involving 10-12 therapy sessions, may include some or all of the following:

  • Anodyne Therapy to reduce pain and increase circulation
  • Stretching and strengthening exercises
  • Balance and walking exercises
  • Massage and other therapeutic modalities for pain management
  • Sensory integrative techniques that will help it all work better together

Will you need ongoing treatment?

If you have a chronic condition causing your pain and circulation problems, then you may need an Anodyne Therapy Home System for ongoing treatment. Your doctor or therapist may recommend home exercises and/or home use of Anodyne Therapy to continue your improvement, maintain proper circulation, and provide pain relief. Medicare and/or your private insurance may cover Anodyne Therapy when medically necessary.

Are there any side-effects or cautions?

Anodyne Therapy has been used safely for over 20 years on thousands of patients. It should not be used directly over an active cancer or over the womb of a pregnant woman. With increased activities during therapy, patients should always monitor their blood sugars carefully. There are no known side effects or drug interactions, other than a very slight risk of a superficial burn if therapy protocols are not followed.

Increased Circulation

Medical conditions and pain caused by circulatory problems can be some of the most frustrating conditions you treat. And this is where Anodyne Therapy (Monochromatic Infrared Photo-Thermal Energy or MIRE™) has been clinically proven to help. Increasing circulation (as measured by a sophisticated instrument called a Moor Scanning Laser Doppler images below) can help reduce pain and inflammation and improve your patients’ quality of life. And, Anodyne Therapy, when used adjunctively with a personalized physical therapy program, may help relieve pain that has not responded to other medical interventions.

Circulation increases were measured by a Moor Scanning Laser Doppler after a 20-30 minute Anodyne treatment. Brighter areas in the images below indicate more circulation.

Clinical Studies

The Anodyne® Therapy System was the first infrared light therapy product cleared by the FDA in 1994, and it remains one of the few evidence based infrared light therapy modalities on the market today.

Many manufacturers reference clinical data completed using other light therapy products - and have little to no proprietary clinical data on their specific devices.

There are 19 published peer reviewed studies demonstrating the exceptional outcomes with Anodyne® Therapy Systems.

Throughout these studies, the term MIRE™ is also referenced. This term represents the words Monochromatic Infrared Energy and is a trademark of Anodyne® Therapy technology specifically.
